FOG and Wipes
Fog refers to fats, oils, and grease that originate in kitchen households. When improperly disposed of, these items stick to the inside of sewer pipes and over time lead to a blockage. As well, flushable or disposable wipes that are flushed down the toilet will clog sewers and cause backups.
How Can You Help?
- Do not pour FOG down the drain
- Wipe pots and pans with a paper towel or napkin prior to washing
- Pour cooking oil and grease into a container to store for recycling
- Dispose of wipes in the trash
- Only flush toilet paper down the toilet
